Invoice data extraction is more than OCR text
OCR makes document text readable. Invoice data extraction identifies the financial meaning of that text, keeps it with the source document, and structures fields for review. Receiptor can capture supplier or merchant, dates, totals, tax, currency, payment state, and available line items when the evidence supports them.
Invoice scanning software for PDFs, uploads, and email
Use Receiptor as invoice scanning software when invoices arrive as PDF email attachments, appear in an email body, or are uploaded as files. It applies invoice OCR and AI extraction, keeps the source with the record, and sends uncertain fields to review instead of treating raw OCR text as finished accounting data.
Extract receipts from Gmail
Connect your Google account and grant read access to your mailbox. Receiptor collects financial documents without requiring you to find and forward each receipt. Use sender filters to control which messages are considered.

- What is invoice scanning software?
- Invoice scanning software turns invoice PDFs, uploaded images, and email content into structured financial fields. Receiptor also keeps the source document with the extracted record and sends uncertain results to review before export or accounting delivery.
- What invoice data can Receiptor extract?
- Receiptor can extract reviewable fields such as supplier or merchant, document date, due date when present, amount, tax, currency, payment state, and available line items. The fields depend on what the source document contains, and you should review them before export or accounting delivery.
- Is invoice data extraction the same as OCR?
- No. OCR converts visible document text into machine-readable text. Invoice data extraction interprets that text as financial fields, associates it with the source document, and prepares the result for review, export, or an accounting workflow.
- Can Receiptor extract invoice data from PDFs?
- Yes. Receiptor can process invoice PDF attachments and uploaded invoice files. It keeps the source document with the extracted record so you can review the fields before export or accounting delivery.
- Does this work with email bodies as well as attachments?
- Yes. Receiptor can process financial documents in the email body and PDF attachments. Review the extracted documents before using them in your accounts.
- Does connecting an inbox automatically scan all my old email?
- Ongoing monitoring and historical extraction are separate workflows. For a backlog, select your inbox and date range in historical extraction and review the quote before starting.
- What access does Receiptor need?
- Gmail uses Google's read-only mail permission; Outlook uses Microsoft's Mail.Read permission. Review the permissions during connection and read our privacy policy for how data is handled. You can disconnect a source in Receiptor.
- Do I need Xero or QuickBooks?
- No. You can review and export your documents without either platform. Accounting integrations are optional and depend on your plan and configuration.
- How much does email extraction cost?
- Ongoing monitoring is available through Receiptor's paid plans. Historical scans have a separate quote for the selected inbox and date range. Check the pricing page for current plan limits and integration access.
